Day by day, the choices we make are influenced by graphic images that bombard us, from tv and internet

to billboards and movie posters. We have been programmed to react in certain ways to certain images.

Most prevalent of all, are images of violence.

With Today Marks the Beginning, the young ladies

of Irma Lerma Rangel Young Women's Leadership School step out into the community

to give a new spin on INFLUENCE in a positive way.

I learned from this experience that we, as Americans, should try to embrace that we have freedom. While some other countries don't have peace, and try to destroy their own people, our country does have peace. We have laws that protect us and we should be grateful for that. By sharing our peace poster we can try to influence people to help show peace around their neighborhood to make it a better way of living.
