Day by day, the choices we make are influenced by graphic images that bombard us, from tv and internet

to billboards and movie posters. We have been programmed to react in certain ways to certain images.

Most prevalent of all, are images of violence.

With Today Marks the Beginning, the young ladies

of Irma Lerma Rangel Young Women's Leadership School step out into the community

to give a new spin on INFLUENCE in a positive way.

I am proud to have made this project to promote peace. I made a landscape. I used neon types of glitter glue, tissue paper, and paper. I decided to make a landscape because it looks peaceful and very happy if you are peaceful. I think I will make a huge impact on the kids that go to the library because it promotes peace and it says the day to be peaceful. I thought it was a very great and artistic because i had fun making while at the same time I am promoting something good that is peace. I learned that not just September 21 is peace day but we should make it or try to make it everyday.
